DEVPRAYAG

Devprayag, which means "the confluence of gods". It is the place where the most holy rivers of India Alaknanda, Saraswati and Bhagirathi confluence and take name of the most Sacred river of India "Ganga'. Devprayag is situated in Tehri Grhwal district of Uttarakhand's Grahwal region. Devprayag is one of the most important and sacred places for Hindu devotees. This place has a charming and a divine aura which will attract and mesmerize you. You can also take a deep bath in the holy ghat of Devprayag.

According to ancient Hindu legends, Devprayag is the place where lord Rama and King Dashratha used to perform self-mortification. The name "Devprayag" is derived from Sanskrit Dev which means god and Prayag means confluence, "Godly confluence". This town is filled with several big and small religious temples; those are a chief center of attraction for visitors. It is also the place or home for priests of Badrinath Dham. Kyun Kaleshwar temple: this temple was built by Adi Shankracharya. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and also has deties of goddess Parvati, lord Kartikeya and Lord Ganesh. This temple is also very popular in Uttarakhand region.

Dashrath Shila temple: This temple is dedicated to Shanta, it is believed that Shanta was the daughter of Dashratha.

Chandarbadani temple: Chandarbadani temple is the temple of Goddess of power "Shakti'. It is one of popular places of Devprayag.

Suspension Bridges: it is the chief center of attraction to visitors. It is formed upon the rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. From here you can view the green color water in river.

DEVPRAYAG CLIMATE

In summers the temperature of this place remains pleasant in between 17 to 320. That makes this season an ideal time to visit Devprayag.

In monsoons, Devprayag region experience heavy rainfalls and road blockage of hours. Check weather forecast during monsoon before visiting Devprayag.

During winters the region of Dvprayag remains too cold and sometimes temperature dives below 00. But this is also an ideal time to visit Devprayag. Carry woolen clothes.

By Road: Devprayag is well connected with most of the north top cities by well motorable road networks. One can visit Devprayag driven by himself or can rent cabs or public transports.
