History of Vishnuprayag
According to Hindu mythology, sage Narada give himself up in a serious mortification at this place to mollify Lord Vishnu "The Preserver". Delighted with his dedication and devotion, Lord Vishnu then appeared in front of Narada and blessed him with "Prana Shakti" which is also known as cosmic energy. There is a believe that Vishnu temple situated about 2 km far from vishnuprayag is the place where Narayana or lord Vishnu blessed Narada.

Holy Dip: It is also believed that the one deep bath in this holy river can wash out your whole life sins. Devotees come here from very far to take a holy deep in the river of Vishnuprayag "Alaknanda".
