Panch Badri Information
The groups of five temples which form up to make Panch Badri are Badrinath, Adi Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Vridha Badri and Yogdhyan Badri temple. These all shrines are devoted to the preserver Lord Vishnu. These Vishnu temples are popular across the state. Several devotees come here to visit and take blessings. It is originally a group of seven badri temples but these five (Badri Vishal, Adi Badri, Bhavishya Badri, Vridha Badri and Yogdhyan Badri) are the chief.
Badri Vishal (Badrinath):The most popular and worshiped temple, it is devoted to Lord Vishnu. This pilgrimage site is situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand' Garhwal region. It is nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountain range of Himalayas at an altitude of 3133 mts above sea level. It is the most important pilgrimage site of Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand. Badrinath dham is the only one and most important pilgrimage, which is included in both the Uttarakhand's chota Chardham and National Chardham Yatra. This place is so calm and curious; it heals the heart and let you forget every pain. It is the place of divine. This place is like a paradise for religious. This lord Vishnu's temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desams (Temples of Viushnu). According to ancient legends, this temple is older than 1000 years or more and was built by Adi Shankracharya in 8th century. There are several places to visit such as; Badrinath temple, Bhimtal, Brahma kapal, Tapt kund, Narad kund, Vasundhra falls, Charanpaduka, Mana village and many more to explore. It is surrounded by the Nar and Narayan mountain range, which makes it to look more charming and mesmerizing.
Adi Badri: This temple is also devoted to Lord Vishnu and it is also a part of Panch Badri of Uttarakhand. Adi badri is a group of 16 temples and all are dedicated to lord Narayan. It belongs to Gupta period from 5th to 8th of centuries. It is situated at 17 km of distance to karnprayag of Chamoli district. According to ancient legends, these temples were constructed by the Indian monk and philosopher Adi Shankracharya. It is the great place to visit. The chains of 16 Narayan temples are the center of attraction for tourists.
Yogdhyan Badri: Yogdhyan temple has a deity of Lord Vishnu in meditation pose and for that reason it also got the name "Yogdhyan Badri". It is one of from Panch Baris of Uttarakhand. Yogdhyan badri is located in Pandukeshwar village nearby Hanuman chatti and Govind ghat. It is also considered as the winter adobe of Utsav-murti festival of Badrinath. It is also believed that the pilgrimage tour is incomplete without praying in this temple.
Bhavishya Badri: Bhavishya Badri temple is situated in subhain 17 km away to Joshimath. This sacred shrine is devoted to Lord Vishnu. This temple is not available for motorcars. Here one can reach by on foot. It is the part of panch badri of Uttarakhand. It is nestled at altitude of 2744 mts above sea level 17 km away to Joshimath. There are numerous cedar trees around the shrine of Bhavishya Badri and a beautiful water spring. It is best place to visit for adventure lovers.
Vridha Badri: Vridha badri is one among Panch Badri of Uttarakhand. It is situated in Animath at Chamoli district of Uttarakhand's Garhwal region. It is believed that this temple was built in 8th century of Gupta period. It holds an immense and significance in Hindu mythology. It is nestled at elevation of 1380 mts above in Animath ahead of Kalpeshwar Mahadev temple. Vridha Badri is a well-known shrine of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu mythology, it was the place where lord Vishnu arrived in old form before sage Narada who undertook penance here. Vridha Badri is the only Badri, which remains opened for devotees throughout the year.
